I present this new book on developments and trends in power electronics and automotive engines to the professional community in the hope that it will be accorded the same broad and enthusiastic acceptance by practicing engineers, R&D professionals, university professors, and even graduate students. Other books in this field. Unlike traditional books on power electronics, this book has a unique presentation format that makes it suitable for group presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. A disc containing a ready-to-view PowerPoint file of the main characters is included. Presentations can also be organized using only specific parts of the book. As you know, power electronics and motor drive technology are very complex and multidisciplinary, and it has gone through a dynamic development in recent years. Energy electronics engineers and researchers face great difficulty in keeping pace with the rapid developments in this technology. This book can be viewed as a text for a refresher course or continuing education for those who need a quick review of recent technological developments. Of course, for the sake of completeness of the topic, the basic technology is described in each chapter. A special feature of the book is that many examples of recent industrial applications are included to make the topic interesting. Another new feature is that a separate chapter is dedicated to discussing model questions and answers.
During the past 40 years of my career in the industrial and academic environment, I have gained a great deal of experience in power electronics and automotive engines. Besides my books, technical publications and US patents, I have given tutorials, invited presentations and headlines in various countries around the world at various IEEE as well as non-IEEE conferences. One of the tasks in my life has been promoting power electronics worldwide. I hope to be successful at least partially. I have pursued the development of power electronics technology vigorously since its inception and tried to bring my knowledge and experience of the whole subject matter to the benefit of the professional community. However, the book should not be considered as the first or second course in power electronics. The reader should have a good background on the topic to understand the content of the book. Each page contains one or more shapes or a bullet diagram with the explanations below - just like the tutorial. The bulk of the numbers are taken from my presentation materials from lessons, seminars, and class notes. A large amount of material was also taken from my other publications, including published books.
